Orthodontics
Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics was established in college in the year of 2000 and the masters course started in the year of 2012 with annual intake of 3 students. After its 19 years voyage of trials and errors, the department today stands proud featuring state of art facilities, sophisticated equipments and high quality materials in a refined operational ambience coupled with streamlined administration all making it one of a kind.
Phenomenal growth of the department today features 25 fully automated dental chairs, an exclusive sterilization corner for effective infection control, a material store ensuring uninterrupted supply of dental and orthodontic materials all functioning in a spacious floor with just one purpose: quality patient care.
Branch Orthodontics is that specific area of dental practice that has as its responsibility the study and supervision of the growth and the development of the dentition and its related anatomical structures from birth to dental maturity, including all preventive and corrective procedures of dental irregularities requiring the repositioning of teeth by functional or mechanical means to establish normal occlusion and pleasing facial contour.
The department proudly mentions its academic excellence with the students:
1. Dr. Simranjeet Kaur scoring 1st rank in the speciality in BFUHS:MDS Examination, 2015 with overall 2nd rank.
2. Dr. Amarjot Kaur securing 2nd prize in scientific paper at 20th IOS PGs Convention held in March,2016 at Amritsar.
3. Dr. Mohini Chabbra scoring 1st rank in the speciality & Overall University Topper in BFUHS:MDS Examination, 2016.
4. Dr. Sachin Sunda scoring 2nd prize in poster presentation in ICCR:BFUHS conference, 2017.
5. Dr. Indu Bhardwaj scoring 3rd prize in poster presentation at ICCR:BFUHS conference, 2017.
