The camp was conducted as a part of the institution\u2019s ongoing commitment to community welfare and public health awareness. Specialist doctors provided free check-ups and consultations for dental problems, general health issues, joint pain, and obesity-related conditions. Under the esteemed guidance of our Director, Dr. Gursewak Singh<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, Joint Director, S. Swarnjit Singh Gill<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, Principal, Dr. M.K. Sunil<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, and Head of the Department of Periodontology, Dr. Nitin Khuller<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, a dental health camp was successfully organized by the Department of Periodontology at Gita Bhawan<\/span><\/span><\/strong> on Thursday, 2nd April 2026.<\/p>

The team conducting the camp included postgraduate students Dr. Isha Gupta<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and Dr. Ishita Vij<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, along with interns Simardeep<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and Simranjot<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, who are currently posted in the Department of Periodontology.<\/p>

This camp was organized under the aegis of Apna Ghar Ashram<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, with the support of its respected members, including Mr. Kewal Krishan Kataria<\/span><\/span><\/strong> (Pradhan), Mr. Varinder Vinayak<\/span><\/span><\/strong> (Secretary), Mr. Arun Kumar Gupta<\/span><\/span><\/strong> (Cashier), and permanent members Mr. Bhanot Bajaj<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, Mr. Ravinder Kali<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, and Mr. Rajesh Sharma<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>

The primary objective of this camp was to spread awareness about oral health among the underprivileged community. The initiative focused on educating individuals about the importance of maintaining proper oral hygiene and preventing common dental diseases.<\/p>

During the camp, participants underwent basic dental check-ups and oral examinations. Special emphasis was placed on educating them about correct oral hygiene practices. The proper tooth-brushing technique was demonstrated, and attendees were guided on maintaining daily oral care habits to help prevent dental issues such as dental caries and periodontal diseases.<\/p>

As part of the awareness drive, samples of toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed among the participants to encourage healthy dental care habits. This dental health camp served as a meaningful step toward improving oral health awareness and providing preventive dental care to the underprivileged section of society.<\/p>

On February 24, 2026, our first-year BDS students participated in the Cadaveric Oath Ceremony, honoring the individuals who selflessly donated their bodies to science, our ‘silent teachers. \u2018Under the patronage of Director Dr. Gursevak Singh and Joint Director S. Swarnjit Singh Gill, and presided over by Principal Dr. Tarun Kumar, the ceremony was led by Dr. Ajit Pal Singh (Head, Anatomy Dept.), who highlighted how this oath shapes compassionate caregivers.
